Best screen recorders with an editor for Windows
Screen recorders for Windows that also edit: cut, zoom, annotate and export in one app. Which have a light editor, which have a full timeline.
Updated · By the Sceed team
For recording and editing in one Windows app, Sceed is built for fast polish: the cursor, zooms, frames and effects are edited on a timeline made for screen recordings. Camtasia and DemoCreator have full general-purpose timelines. FocuSee has a light editor round automatic zooms. Clipchamp is a general editor with a recorder attached.

How to choose
Editors differ in what they treat as editable. In most, the recording is a finished picture: you can cut it and put things on top. In a few, the cursor is recorded separately, so it can be smoothed, restyled or hidden after the take.
A full timeline can do anything and takes longer to learn. A purpose-built editor does less and gets a screen recording finished faster.

Questions
Which screen recorder has the best editor?
It depends on the job. Camtasia has the most complete general editor. Sceed’s editor is narrower and faster for making a screen recording look finished, because the cursor, zooms and frames are built in rather than added by hand.
Can I edit the cursor after recording?
Only in recorders that capture the cursor separately. Sceed does, so the cursor can be smoothed, resized, restyled or hidden afterwards.
Do I still need a video editor?
Not for a screen recording. If you are cutting together camera footage, music and many sources, a general video editor is the right tool.
