Short answers. If yours is not here, write to hello@sceed.io.
Five steps.
- 1
Install
Run the installer on a Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11 PC. It installs for your user only, so it never asks for an administrator. If Windows SmartScreen asks, choose More info, then Run anyway.
- 2
Sign in
Sceed opens your browser to sign in with a free account, then hands you back to the app by itself. There is no code to type. That account carries your plan to the machine.
- 3
Record
In the floating recorder, pick Screen, Window or Area, switch the microphone, system sound and camera on or off, and press Record. A countdown runs, then the recorder shrinks to a small pill with Pause and Stop.
- 4
Polish
The take opens in the studio already in a frame, on a background, with a smoothed cursor. Add zooms where the detail is, then anything else from the panels on the right. Each thing you add is a block on the timeline.
- 5
Export
Press Export, choose MP4 or GIF, a size and a quality, and pick where the file goes. You can hide the dialog and keep working; a notification tells you when it is done.

Where things live.
Where are my recordings?
In the Sceed folder inside your Videos folder, unless you chose another folder in Settings. Each recording is a plain folder of files: the video, the audio lanes, the cursor track and a small project file.
Can I move the recordings folder?
Yes. Open Settings (the gear in the studio sidebar) and choose a recordings folder. New recordings go there.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Recording, editing and exporting all happen on your computer. The app only talks to sceed.io to check your sign-in, your plan and whether there is an update.
Why is there no cursor in the raw video file?
By design. Sceed records the screen without the pointer and stores its path separately, which is what lets the cursor be smoothed, restyled or hidden afterwards. The export has the cursor drawn in.
Can I open a recording made on another PC?
Yes. Copy the recording’s folder across, then use the + in the library to import it. It needs to be a Sceed recording, because a plain video has no cursor track.

What Sceed needs.
Sceed does not run on Mac, Linux, phones or in a browser.
When something is wrong.
Windows SmartScreen blocked the installer.
Choose More info, then Run anyway. The warning appears for new apps that Windows has not seen often yet. The installer is the one linked from sceed.io/download and nowhere else.
The app says it could not reach sceed.io.
Check the connection, then press Check again. A firewall or a VPN that blocks sceed.io will cause this. Once you have signed in, Sceed keeps working offline for seven days between checks.
The browser signed me in but the app is still waiting.
Go back to the app and press Open the browser again. If Windows asks whether to open the link in Sceed, allow it. Only one copy of Sceed should be running.
I bought Pro but the app still shows the free plan.
Open the account menu in the app and press Check again. If it still shows free, open sceed.io/members and press Refresh on your plan card, then check again in the app.
My export stops at three minutes, or has a mark on it.
That is the free plan: exports run up to three minutes with a small Sceed mark. Sceed Pro removes both.
The microphone or the camera is not listed.
Open Windows Settings, Privacy and security, and allow desktop apps to use the microphone and the camera. Then reopen the recorder. Another app holding the camera will also keep it from Sceed.
There is no system sound in the recording.
Make sure System audio is switched on in the recorder before you press Record, and that sound is playing through the default output device.
The export is slow.
Exports use your graphics card’s video encoder. Update the graphics driver, close other apps that use the GPU, and prefer High over Ultra. On a laptop, plug it in.
The recording looks soft.
Record at the display’s own resolution and export at the same size or larger. Switch on Sharpen in the export dialog for small text.
How do I update?
When a new version is out, an Update button appears in the library sidebar. Press it, then Update and restart. Sceed closes, installs and reopens.
How do I sign this computer out?
In the app, open the account menu and sign out. Or on sceed.io, open Account, then Sceed app, and sign out any computer from there.
How do I uninstall Sceed?
Windows Settings, Apps, Installed apps, Sceed, Uninstall. Your recordings are not deleted.
