What does it mean to split a clip?
Also called: razor, cut at playhead
Definition
To split a clip is to divide it into two at the playhead, so each part can be moved, trimmed or deleted separately.
Two splits isolate a section; deleting that section removes it. Splitting is also used to change the speed or the look of just one part of a recording.
Splitting does not remove anything by itself. It only creates a boundary. That makes it safe: if the result is not what you wanted, the two parts still play as before.
