What is aspect ratio?

Definition

Aspect ratio is the shape of a video frame, written as width to height: 16:9 is wide, 1:1 is square, 9:16 is vertical.

Websites, YouTube and presentations use 16:9. Feeds often use 1:1 or 4:5. Shorts, Reels and TikTok use 9:16.

A desktop recording is wide, so making it square or vertical means placing it on a background and zooming so the important part fills the frame.

In Sceed

In Sceed the canvas shape is a setting. The same take re-lays itself out as wide, square or vertical.
