What is a device frame?

Also called: window frame, browser mockup, device mockup

Definition

A device frame is a picture of a window, browser or device drawn round a screen recording, so it appears inside a laptop, a phone or an app window.

Frames give a recording context and a finished look. A browser frame says "this is a web app"; a laptop frame suits a landing page; a plain rounded card with a shadow is the quietest option.

The frame sits on a background with padding round it.
