What is a gradient background?
Also called: wallpaper, backdrop
Definition
A gradient background is a smooth blend of colours placed behind a screen recording.
It gives the video a designed feel and a colour that can match a brand. Gradients are hard on video compression: smooth blends can break into visible bands. Dithering, a fine noise added to the gradient, prevents that.
In Sceed
Sceed’s gradients are dithered so they survive compression, and you can build your own from a shape and three colours.
