What is an explainer video?
Definition
An explainer video is a short video that explains what a product or an idea is and why it matters.
Explainers are often animated, but for software a well-edited screen recording with title cards and text overlays does the same job and shows the real product.
A typical explainer runs one to two minutes: the problem, the product, how it works, what to do next. For software, showing the real interface builds more trust than an illustration of it.
