What is a screencast?
Definition
A screencast is a screen recording made to explain or teach something, usually with narration.
The word joins "screen" and "broadcast". Every screencast is a screen recording, but the term implies an audience: a lesson, a walkthrough or a demo, with a voice explaining what is happening.
Good screencasts are planned around one task, recorded with clear audio, and edited so the viewer can see each click.
