Titles, text overlays and sections
Words on screen, and cards between clips. Titles and chapters without opening another app.
Sceed adds words to a recording in three ways: sections, which are full-frame cards between clips or over the recording; text overlays, which animate in by word or letter; and a keystroke overlay, which shows the shortcuts you pressed. All are blocks on the same timeline as the recording.
Sections
A section is a card: a title, a chapter heading, a big number, a chart, steps, a quote, a checklist, a code window, an end card and more. It can sit between clips, pausing the recording, or play over it while your voice carries on. The title card is free; the other styles are Pro.
Text overlays
Animated text on top of the video, arriving whole, by word or by letter, in many looks, with a plate behind it if the picture is busy. Text overlays are part of Pro.
Keystroke overlay
Keys you press while recording are logged and drawn in a pill on the frame. It is free, and can be switched off after the take. See how to show keystrokes.
Another recording as a clip
Drop a second video into the timeline as its own section (Pro), for example a phone capture inside a desktop walkthrough.
Questions
Does Sceed make captions or subtitles?
No. Sceed does not generate captions. Add text overlays by hand for key points, or use the captions of the platform you upload to.
What is free here?
The title card section and the keystroke overlay. Other section styles and text overlays are Pro.
Do sections have sound?
A section between clips is silent. A section over the recording keeps the recording’s audio playing underneath.
