A timeline editor for screen recordings

An editor that stays out of your way. Cut, speed up, and move things. The preview is the export, frame for frame.

In short

Sceed’s editor is a timeline made for screen recordings: a row for each kind of effect above the video and audio tracks. Cuts ripple, blocks snap, several blocks can be selected and moved together, and everything can be done from the keyboard. The preview is the export, frame for frame.

Cutting

Press S to split at the playhead. Mark a range with I and O and press Delete; the rest closes up. Speed a stretch up or slow it down. Zooms and effects stay attached to the moment in the recording they belong to. See how to trim and cut.

Blocks

Every zoom, effect, camera look, text and section is a block. Blocks snap to the playhead, to cuts and to each other. Select several with Ctrl or Shift, then move, copy, paste or duplicate them together.

Sound

The microphone and the system sound are separate lanes. The microphone gets a noise gate and levelling, and the preview plays the same mix the export will have.

Safety

Every change can be undone. The project file is written after every change, so closing the app or a crash does not lose the edit.

Saved looks

Save the whole style of a video as a look, share the file with your team, and make it the default for new recordings.

Questions

Do I need another video editor?

Not for a screen recording. Cuts, speed, zooms, effects, text, sections, audio levels and export are all in Sceed.

Can I import a video recorded with another tool?

You can add any video as a clip section inside a Sceed project. The cursor features need a recording made with Sceed.

Is there an undo?

Yes, for every change, and the project autosaves.
