Screen recording for Windows
Press Record. That is the hard part done. A small floating recorder that stays out of the way and out of the picture.
Sceed records any window, a dragged area or a whole monitor on Windows 10 and 11 at up to 60 frames a second. The microphone, the computer’s sound and the webcam are captured as separate tracks, and the mouse pointer is left out of the picture so it can be redrawn in the editor.
A recorder that stays out of the picture
The recorder is a small floating window. Pick Screen, Window or Area, switch the microphone, system sound and camera on or off, and press Record. While recording it shrinks to a pill with Pause and Stop. Global hotkeys start, stop and pause from any app, so the recorder never needs to appear in the take.
Three ways to capture
Window. Choose an open window from live thumbnails. Only that window is captured, even if another passes in front. Moving it mid-take keeps the cursor aligned.
Area. Drag a rectangle. The whole monitor is captured underneath, so zooms stay sharp.
Screen. A whole monitor, on any display.
Sound and camera as their own tracks
The microphone and the system sound are recorded separately, so each can be levelled or muted afterwards. A level meter and a three-second test let you check the microphone before the take. The webcam is recorded as its own layer with a live preview and a mirror switch.
Built on Windows’ own capture
Sceed uses Windows Graphics Capture and the graphics card’s video encoder. Recording is light on the processor, and the pointer is not burned into the video, which is what makes cursor smoothing possible.
Questions
What can Sceed record?
Any window, a dragged area, or a whole monitor, with microphone, system sound and webcam, at up to 60 frames a second.
Can it record the desktop and File Explorer?
Yes. Unlike Xbox Game Bar, Sceed records the desktop, File Explorer and anything else on screen.
Is there a time limit on recording?
No. The free plan limits exports to three minutes, not recordings.
Does it record games?
It can record a game window, but it is built for apps, browsers and tutorials. For streaming or competitive game capture, OBS Studio is the better tool.
